Twitter Security Status
TwiGUARD publishes a threat report on an as needed basis. There are three levels of TwiThreat that reflect the current threat a standard user faces on Twitter.The current threat level is:

A widespread phishing incident is being tracked. Unlike most phishing attempts that come from users you may not know these attempts will come from your friends. Be careful of clicking on any link even if the page looks like it is the Twitter loging page. Consider changing your password. More information will be posted on the analyst log as it becomes available.

Threat Level Overview
Level 1 - Normal
The default level of the threat report is level 1. Level 1 means that there are normal level of dangerous activity. This takes into account SPAM and malware activity. At this level a user has to follow good web security guidelines including not clicking on unknown links, accepting friend requests from strange users, or disclose your account information to anybody. The threat level 1 icon follows:
Level 2 - Possible Threat
Threat level 2 indicates increased malicious activity or the detection of precursors to a larger attacks. Events that would cause the threat level to be raised include the detection of higher spam or malware rates, increase registration of accounts used for malware activity, or probes for security flaws or weak user security. The threat level 2 icon follows:
Level 3 - Widespread Attacks
Threat level 3 means that specific attacks have been detected on Twitter and are targeting users. This level warrants the highest level of scrutiny for unknown information including users, messages, or links. Attackers could use new accounts of compromise existing accounts to spread SPAM and malware. Light use or avoiding Twitter all together is advised. The release of new malware that could attack a users Twitter credentials or the Twitter Infrastructure will cause this threat level to be set. The threat level 3 icon follows:
